Each week, following the Sunday sermon we'll post key passages and some "So What?" questions.
Week 2 - Creeds & Confessions
July 6-12
- Galatians 6:1-10
- James 5:13-20
- Psalm 32
- The Nicene Creed
- How does confessing sin "corporately" make you feel?
- When someone else in the church family sins, do you feel the burden of that sin in such a way that it moves you to contribute to making reconciliation? Why or why not?
- Is there anyone in the church family to whom you have confessed personal sins? Do you feel comfortable sharing what prompted you to do it and what the result was?
- Why is confessing sin a central part of the gospel?
- Are you familiar with any of the early church creeds? (Apostles, Nicene, Athanasian, etc.) Where did you first encounter them and how does it make you feel to recite them?
- As you read the Nicene creed, are there any parts you don't understand? Or aren't quite sure you agree with them? Or just need some clarification?
